Bible Study Guidelines
1. Creating a Safe and Welcoming Environment
All participants are valued and respected, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or faith background.
We affirm that God's love is for everyone, and this space will reflect that love.
Discrimination, hate speech, or exclusionary theology is not allowed.
2. Respecting Different
Perspectives
We acknowledge that people have different relationships with faith, scripture, and identity.
Everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts, but no one is pressured to speak.
Disagreements are handled with kindness, understanding, and humanity.
3. Confidentiality and Trust
What is shared in the group stays in the group.
Do not record or screenshot without consent.
Use first names or preferred names when addressing each other.
4. Engaging with Scripture with Openness
We approach the Bible with curiosity, seeking how it speaks to our lives today.
We acknowledge historical and cultural contexts while exploring scripture.
No one is expected to have all the answers-faith is a journey.
5. Respecting Pronouns and Identities
When introducing yourself, share your pronouns if you're comfortable.
Use others' correct names and pronouns-mistakes happen, but we correct them and move forward with grace.
Gender-inclusive language is encouraged when talking about people and God.
6. Participation and Communication
Mute yourself when not speaking to reduce background noise.
Use the chat function for encouragement, questions, or if you prefer not to speak aloud.
Be mindful of speaking time so everyone has space to share.
7. Handling Disruptions and Concerns
If someone acts disrespectfully, facilitators will address it privately.
If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, reach out to a facilitator in a private message.
Repeated violations of the guidelines may lead to removal from the group.
8. Prayer and Reflection
Prayer is inclusive and affirming-feel free to opt in or out.
We respect different ways of connecting with God, including silent reflection.
You're welcome to submit prayer requests, but there's no pressure to share.
